Grasshopper had several of its big machines on the floor at GIE+EXPO last week, telling landscapers stopping by the booth that its 100V Series mowers will be equipped with 61-inch cutting decks for 2016.

That will make the 100V machines capable of mowing 4.5 acres per hour, according to Grasshopper, which describes the V Series as “the perfect entry point for commercial contractors looking to step up from walk-behind or stand-on mowers.”

In 2016, all 100V Series models will have single-fill, 6.5-gallon fuel tanks located under the seat for a lower center of gravity, enhanced traction and longer mowing intervals between fill-ups.

Grasshopper boasts that its V-Series mowers have the longest transmission fluid change interval in their class and require no break-in period. With self-tensioning belts and no more than five grease points, Grasshopper says, its V-Series mowers are designed for less maintenance and low cost of operation.

All V-Series models are equipped with fully hydraulic pump-and-wheel-motor transmissions, professional-grade engines with limited three-year engine manufacturer warranties, 5.5-inch deep cutting decks with foot-pedal and drop-pin height adjustment, large turf-style drive tires and cushioned Cordura-covered seats with padded armrests.

Grasshopper V-Series mowers are available in 41-, 48-, 52- and 61-inch cutting widths.

Meanwhile, GIE+EXPO was an opportune time for Grasshopper to remind patrons of its 2015 Dealer’s Choice Award. The company won the award from the North American Equipment Dealers Association after receiving exceptional ratings for product and parts quality.

“Our continuous improvement in manufacturing processes and parts deliverability has resulted in a level of product and support unmatched in the industry,” says Stan Guyer, president of Grasshopper. “The dealers who we trust to represent our products have rewarded us through these high ratings and in turn our commitment to the independent dealer is unwavering.”
