Barreto Manufacturing’s new TKD walk-behind track trencher features a detachable front end, giving the operator the ability to use optional proprietary attachments. The quick-attach system allows removal of the front-end attachment without the use of tools.

The TKD’s track design provides 241 square inches of footprint on each side of the machine. Consequently, the tool maintains outstanding traction on wet soil, clay, sand or steep terrain, according to Barreto.

At the same time, the wide footprint softens the impact of the tool on the existing landscape. And Barreto says the track absorbs most of the impact caused by rocks, roots or other obstructions in the soil.

The TKD uses Barreto’s new Adjustable Trenching Control (ATC) system, which uses rod linkage instead of cables. The ATC system can be positioned to modify the trenching speed of the tracks individually while on the go. The individual track controls enable the operator to keep the trench straight when working on uneven terrain.

All models in the 20-23 horsepower range also feature electric start.

Meanwhile, Barreto Manufacturing has also introduced a new chipper-mulcher-shredder machine.

The all-new 3104CMS Chipper Mulcher Shredder transforms yard debris into mulch.

Powered by a 31-horsepower V-Twin Briggs & Stratton Vanguard engine with electric start, the CMS is designed to chip logs and branches up to 4 inches. The mulching hopper accommodates smaller leaves and branches.

To reduce maintenance costs, Barreto says, the chipping blades are double sided and the mulching/shredding hammers have four hammering surfaces. Both have quick access ports for ease of service.
