Husqvarna’s message for landscapers at the 2018 GIE+EXPO is that it has truly become a full fleet solution for companies.

“Husqvarna is the only company that can provide you with a full fleet solution, from lawn care to forestry products, from robotics to handheld and wheeled, and even accessories,” says Earl Bennett, president of Husqvarna Brand Division North America. “We are excited to announce that we’re expanding our commercial product lineup even further to offer professionals more solutions to increase productivity and efficiency and help grow their businesses.”

One of the new features Husqvarna announced was its partnership with Yamaha to create engines for the commercial Z500 zero-turn series.

“This brings power sports technology into the engine,” said Jerry Sandy, senior product manager for Husqvarna, at the tradeshow.

These new engines include EFI engines and are known for their fuel efficiency. The models will range from 26 to 33 horsepower.

The engines will be available on all models in the Z500 zero-turn series. The models with Yamaha engines will also feature a stainless-steel exhaust system. They come with a 5-year commercial warranty and start at MSRP $7,999.95.

Husqvarna also says that 2019 is the year for commercial robotics, as it has launched the Automower 550 and 550H as a solution for commercial lawn care businesses.

“Husqvarna is continuing to push the boundaries and expectation of robotic mower capabilities and connective solutions in the commercial space,” Bennett says. “We keep innovation at the forefront of our business and are committed to providing sustainable products to our homeowner and professional end users that keep them connected to their equipment and businesses.”

Both can mow up to 1.25 acres and handle 45 percent slopes. The Automower 550H is part of Husqvarna’s new high-cut version of robotic mowers that are designed for lawns that need a higher cutting height, up to 3.6 inches.

The manufacturer says that they are the only ones currently providing robotic solutions for all grass types. The Automower 550 and 550H both have an MSRP of $3,699.95 with installation sold separately.

The company says these Automowers allow operators to focus their workforce toward other, more profitable tasks, while the machines handle the mowing. Both models come equipped with Fleet Services, Husqvarna’s proprietary cloud-based fleet management software.

Fleet Services, which is debuting in early 2019, allows landscapers to monitor their entire fleet of machines through Husqvarna’s cloud-based system. It can be accessed through an online portal or mobile app via Bluetooth.

By mounting a small wireless sensor on an outdoor power product, Fleet Services captures machine data, allowing landscape contractors to gather insights about how to boost productivity and improve their bottom lines.

The system is a subscription-based model and Husqvarna says that just 45 minutes of extra up time for a full year will pay for the product.

The company also acknowledges that most landscaping companies don’t use exclusively one brand of outdoor power equipment, so Fleet Services is compatible with any piece of equipment, but some features will be unavailable unless it is the Husqvarna brand.

As Husqvarna takes pride in creating products for the professional, it has also introduced a new line of gas-powered hedge trimmers and a new series of 35ccc string trimmers.

The hedge trimmers feature special knife design and gear ratio. The 522HD60S is a double-sided trimmer with a 23-inch blade while the 522HDR75S is a double-sided trimmer with a 30-inch blade. Additionally, there is the single-sides 30-inch hedge trimmer, the 522HS75S.

Also, after a hiatus, the company is adding sprayers back to its lineup of products. The company says the sprayers are designed to meet the needs of any commercial or residential landscape application. The sprayers come in three different sizes: 4-gallon backpack, 2-gallon handheld and 48-ounce handheld.

Husqvarna has long been known to cater to the tree care professionals with its chainsaws and for 2019, it is adding a new line of arborist helmets and other arboriculture gear, such as throw line and weight combos.

The helmets come as Class C or Class E variations and have three different visor versions: clear, mirror and smoke. The helmets meet ANSI and CSA requirements and come with a 3-year warranty.

“We’re excited to now offer a complete solution for arborists and tree care professionals,” Bennett says. “From top-of-the-line saws for every size and application to protective equipment and accessories required to get the job done – Husqvarna is a one-stop solution.”
