Along with a collection of new gas-powered products, Stihl also introduced its newest line of battery-powered garden pruners, straight line shaft trimmers, hedge trimmers and telescopic pole pruners.
Stihl says the 135 professional battery equipment platform is packed with quality and durability to deliver true commercial-grade power and performance comparable to gasoline-powered tools but with zero exhaust emissions and low noise.
New tools in the series include FSA 135 straight shaft line trimmers in both loop or bike handle configurations, HLA 135 extended reach hedge trimmers, the KMA 135 R KombiMotor that accepts over a dozen attachments and the HTA 135 telescoping pole pruner. Additional tools on this platform are anticipated.
The company says these tools are assembled in America and feature an on-board battery slot, weather-resistant design and many of the same drive and cutting components used in Stihl professional gasoline-powered equipment.
With the ability to adjust speed depending on the job, the company says the variable speed trigger featured on all 135 platform tools gives users great control over their work. Featuring a brushless electric motor, Stihl says the 135 platform virtually eliminates maintenance.
KMA 135 R KombiMotor
The company says the KMA 135 R features performance comparable to Stihl’s gas-powered units with the same attachment compatibility. Stihl says 14 different attachments empower professional landscape crews to efficiently take on a wide range of landscaping tasks on the jobsite. For the unit only, the MSRP is $359.99.
FSA 135 and FSA 135 R trimmers
With a brushless motor and the same drive and cutting components used in Stihl’s professional gas trimmers, the company says the FSA 135 models deliver professional cutting performance comparable to Stihl’s gas units with zero exhaust emissions and low noise. Stihl says these trimmers are available in loop or bike handle design. For the unit only, the MSRP is $409.99-$459.99.
HTA 135 pole pruner
Stihl says the HTA 135 is an advanced battery-powered pole pruner that extends up to 13 feet, with commercial-grade power and durability. Featuring the same field-proven shaft and cutting components as found on the company’s gasoline-powered pole pruners, Stihl says the HTA 135 delivers the cutting performance professional customers have come to expect from Stihl. The company says the HTA 135 pole pruner combines commercial-grade power and durability comparable to gas, with quiet performance and zero exhaust emissions. For the unit only, the MSRP is $609.99.
HLA 135, 135 K 0° and HLA 135 0°-145° extended-reach hedge trimmers
Stihl says the HLA 135 family of hedge trimmers offers two short shaft (K) designs as well as one long shaft length design which can extend user’s reach up to 5 feet. The company says the K versions are available with either a fixed or 145° adjustable cutting head, and the long shaft version employs an adjustable 145° cutting head, allowing greater flexibility for their extended-reach trimming needs. Stihl says all models feature the same shaft, gearbox and cutting head as Stihl’s gas-powered models, delivering maximum performance and durability in a battery package. For the unit only, the MSRP is $409.99-$469.99.
GTA 26 garden pruner
With its lightweight and compact design featuring rubber grips, the company says this tool provides ease of use, and an LED light display provides the charge level and status of the tool. With battery, charger, multi-oil and a transport bag, Stihl says the GTA 26 set comes with everything users need to take on a variety of landscaping tasks.
“The GTA 26 is a unique cutting tool with many applications, from pruning tree branches at home to clearing trails on a hike,” says Mike Poluka, product manager at Stihl Inc. “With the AS 2, 10.8V battery, this pruner is lightweight at just 3.1 pounds and has a long run time of up to 25 minutes.”
The company says the ergonomic design provides users maximum comfort and control through a variety of pruning tasks, and Stihl adds that it offers a 4-inch guide bar that allows for precision cutting and pruning.
The GTA 26 also includes the following features:
- Toolless bar and chain replacement
- Trigger switch lockout designed to prevent inadvertent activation of the trigger switch
- Retractable chain guard
The company says the GTA 26 battery-powered garden pruner also introduces the AS 2 battery. Delivering reliable performance and long run times, the company says the AS 2 battery allows users to get up to 80 cuts between charges.
Stihl says the Lithium-Ion battery technology offers users an option to reduce their impact on the environment and provides a powerful alternative to gasoline-powered equipment or hand tools.
The company says that low maintenance and operating cost eliminates hassle and cost of fuel.
The MSRP for the set of the GTA 26, AS 2 battery, AL 1 charger, multi-oil and carrying case is $149.95.
