The second video of the Propane Education & Research Council’s “Straight Talk” video series shares the story of Rotolo Consultants, Inc.

The company started as a small retail nursery over 40 years ago and now it is one of the largest full-service landscape contractors in the Southeast with offices in Louisiana, Mississippi and Tennessee.

Its maintenance division is the largest portion of the company and it services everything from high-end casinos and resorts to right of ways on interstate and state highways. Rotolo Consultants began using propane in 2011 after John Deere approached the company about participating in a research and development project with the fuel.

“Propane was good for us and has proven to be consistently good for us,” said Brandt Martin, vice president of operations for Rotolo Consultants.

Almost 90 percent of the company’s fleet of mowers run on propane now. Additionally, they also found a way to standardize their on-road fleet of light-duty and box trucks to propane autogas. Now almost 70 percent of the vehicles run on propane autogas.

Employees say that it has increased productivity thanks to less maintenance and they are also proud to work for a company that is committed to using cleaner fuel and focused on sustainability.
