How long has your company been involved in the landscaping industry?
Caterpillar equipment has been used in this industry since 1998.
What are some of the mistakes you’ve seen landscapers make?
Using machines that are under-rated for the application at hand. This occurs primarily because companies grow and sometimes expand to larger jobs that require a machine with more lifting or digging power. Also, landscapers sometimes do not use the appropriate attachments available that would make the job easier.
Does your company help find solutions for these mistakes?
Yes. Our Caterpillar dealer salesmen are trained to provide machine and attachment solutions by application type that allow the company to improve customer profit margins.
Does your company have a program(s) to help landscapers grow and diversify their business?
Caterpillar Financial services provides many options for the landscaping customer.
Caterpillar dealers also work to meet the best payment plan option for the customer when a machine purchase is considered.
What kinds of after-sale support or training do you or your distribution network offer?
Caterpillar dealer salesmen provide machine operation training at the point of sale as well as after-sale for our customers in the landscaping industry. Caterpillar dealerships also have the capabilities to provide parts support programs to customers who are interested in stocking service parts at their locations.
What advantages do you feel you hold over your competitors?
- Caterpillar Service – we hold this to be an instrumental part of our business. Servicing the customer has been a long-time Caterpillar tradition, and not just in this industry.
- Full product offering of equipment to meet the everyday needs as well as “The Cat Rental Store” for miscellaneous offerings the customer may need in a hurry to complete the job.
- New C-Series skid steer and multi-terrain loaders have many industry-first features not offered by any other manufacturer. The C-Series cab is an industry-first with a sealed and pressurized unit that provides a cleaner and quieter working environment, air ride seat, similar to seats used in large Cat machines, and seat-mounted independently adjustable joystick controls.
