TEREX LOAD KING TO LAUNCH INNOVATIVE NEW SA70 SLIDING AXLE TRAILER

Recognized the world over for its high performance earth moving equipment, TEREX Load King announces the launch of its new SA70 hydraulic sliding axle trailer. The SA70 will be on display at the 2005 CONEXPO-CON/AGG trade show, Mar. 15-19, at the Las Vegas Convention Center. Designed to meet the needs of the construction and rental market, this 70,000 lb. unit also fills a void in the towing industry.

Driving innovation

TEREX Load King™s SA70 hydraulic sliding axle trailer makes loading and unloading low, stubborn and powerless equipment quick and easy. Thanks to the innovative design, drivers never need worry about scraping the ground or overloading the winch. According to TEREX Load King product manager, Andy Grylls, A 12,000 lb. line pull winch and 6.5 degree load angle make the SA70 ideal for loading equipment that requires a very low degree of load angle. This includes paving machines, rollers and other very low ground clearance machines.”

The SA70, with its optional 20,000 lb. line pull winch, is also perfect for tow truck drivers. The 15 degree dump angle on the SA70 is phenomenal. It allows drivers to haul incredibly heavy equipment with little effort. The real beauty is you don™t need another machine to drag it off the bed, which saves time and money,” says Grylls.

Securing the lead

Moving heavy equipment from point A to point B can be risky business. When you™re hauling 50,000 lbs. at 60 mph, you definitely need to know your load is secure. That™s why we designed the SA70 with 20 D-rings and chain slots spaced 4 ft. apart on the gooseneck, 2 ft. apart on the deck, 5 ft. across the approach plate, and 4 ft. apart down the center of the deck. We™ve even included two tool boxes on the gooseneck to hold the chains required for these loads.”

Riding on air

The combination 80 / 100 KSI steel, cambered deck beams, crossmembers on 8 in. centers and Apitong decking all riding on air ride suspension make the SA70 trailer a leader in the industry. TEREX Load King uses Hendrickson Turner HT air ride suspension, and even though other companies use Hendrickson Turner, they typically standardize on the Intraxx model which isn™t as heavy-duty as the HT model,” says Grylls. Plus, the roller design suspension eliminates the need for wear pad replacement. And with the 4 in. sealed roller bearings housed in the suspension system, there are no grease zerks to require weekly suspension maintenance.”
