John Deere announced that the 210L and 210L EP tractor loaders are now available with grade control-ready and grade indication factory options, allowing for faster and more accurate fine grading.

The company says the grade technology options combined with an updated box blade result in increases to productivity and efficiency when completing site prep, road building and landscaping jobs, especially in tight areas.

“We’re excited to facilitate grade control solutions for customers involved in fine grading applications,” says Brian Hennings, product marketing manager, backhoes and tractor loaders, John Deere Construction & Forestry. “When utilizing grade control technology, operators can finish jobs faster with fewer passes and less rework. This results in less fatigue and more productivity, ultimately boosting the business’s bottom line.”

The company says the grade control-ready machines are designed to support 2D or 3D grade control technology solutions, automatically controlling the box blade’s lift and tilt cylinders.

Additionally, John Deere says the factory-installed grade control-ready solution requires no hydraulic hose disconnections or bracket welding, and is designed to minimize technology installation. When adding grade control capabilities in the field, the company says the customer simply selects his/her preferred technology provider and works with his/her dealer to install the finishing kit on the machine.

The company says these tractor loaders are also available with a factory-installed grade indication option, and it provides an on-board readout of the machine cross slope and main fall slope in real time, all within the existing machine’s display. The company says this integrated solution requires no additional hardware or software.

John Deere says the 210L and 210L EP machines are also equipped with an updated box blade, providing a single attachment solution designed to both cut the grade and spread materials accurately with great visibility.

The company says the increased clearance of the ripper mechanism on the box blade allows rock and gravel to more readily pass through the frame, and it also features fewer moving parts, while the ripper hook has improved locking in the working position.

John Deere says the 210L is equipped with a 93-horsepower PowerTech Plus diesel engine, while the 210L EP boasts a 69-horsepower Yanmar engine that requires no after treatment components needed to comply with Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) emissions regulations. The company says both models feature a four-speed PowerShift transmission for smooth, no-clutch, fingertip shifting.

The company says the on-the-fly mechanical front-wheel drive can be engaged to give extra traction in poor job site conditions or to move heavy loads.

John Deere says an optional limited-slip front axle delivers 65 percent of available power to the tire with the best traction for true all-wheel-drive pulling power. The company adds that compared to the K-Series models, loader lift cycle times and loader lifting capacity were increased by 26 percent and 17 percent, respectively.

Additionally, when the ride control option is activated, the company says the front loader hydraulic cylinders act as shock absorbers with or without full loads, smoothing box blading over rough terrain to help get sites to grade and reduce operator fatigue.

John Deere announced the update to its line of Gator utility vehicles (UVs).

The company says operators will find the updated units include new automotive-like features that make the vehicles easier to operate and provide improved control in a variety of terrain.

When operators take a seat in a new model year ‘21 Gator utility vehicle, the company says the first thing they’ll notice is the improved instrument cluster on the dashboard, which provides more information at a glance, including gear position, fuel level, differential lock and on some models, an RPM readout and service interval indicator.

The company says updated John Deere Gator utility vehicles, including the HPX work series, mid-size XUVs and full-size XUVs, offer an integrated park position and improved shift pattern for easier operation and a more automotive-like feel.

The company says the updated units also feature instant four-wheel drive that’s engaged with the flip of a switch to power through tough conditions and provide more control when going downhill.

The company says operators will also appreciate the upgraded automotive-style power steering on the Gator XUV M and R models, which provide smoother steering and better control on all terrains.

“For 2021, we took a look at our Gator line-up and made improvements to the transmission controls, digital displays, gear positions and power steering,” says Mark Davey, John Deere marketing manager. “Customers will find that our updated units are easier to shift and control, provide instant engagement of 4-wheel drive and differential lock and provide more information on the dashboard.”

The company says the versatility of these vehicles is enhanced by a full range of over 100 attachments, including sprayers, snow blades and winches to help get any job done. The units are available in green, olive and new for model-year ’21, TrueTimber camo.

John Deere recently announced the new Smart Connector and TractorPlus app for compact utility tractors.

The company says the Smart Connector establishes a connection between your tractor and your smartphone via Bluetooth technology for easy access to tractor information, like service intervals, diagnostic codes, fuel level, engine hours and maintenance information.

John Deere says the TractorPlus app provides owners with access to key parts of their operator’s manual, parts diagrams and parts ordering directly from the John Deere store or their preferred dealer. The company says owners can also keep track of maintenance and service intervals for optimal machine performance and see diagnostic codes in an easy-to-read list.

In addition to providing tractor information, John Deere says the app also provides coverage mapping via your smartphone’s location tracking system for reduced overlap while mowing, plowing or spraying. In conjunction with the Smart Connector, the company says the app can also function as an extended dashboard to your tractor by displaying real-time machine and job information.

John Deere says owners can also use the TractorPlus app to access a library of how-to videos from the Frontier Tips Notebook for step-by-step information on topics like machine maintenance, property projects and more.

“With the new Smart Connector and TractorPlus app, compact tractor owners have easy access to a wide range of information, like service intervals, diagnostic codes and maintenance information,” says John Doyle, John Deere product marketing manager. “The TractorPlus app also provides coverage mapping and easy access to operator’s manuals, parts diagrams and parts ordering all through your phone.”

John Deere says Smart Connector is easy to install by plugging it into the service advisor port on your compact utility tractor. The company says the entire process takes just a few minutes to complete and requires no tools for installation.

John Deere says the Smart Connectors are compatible with most 2-Series, 3-Series and 4-Series John Deere CUT models and can be purchased through your local John Deere dealer or the John Deere store.
