On Feb. 5, Senators Mikulski (D-Maryland) and Specter (R-Pennsylvania) introduced “Save Our Small and Seasonal Businesses Act of 2009” (S. 388). If passed, the bill will extend the H-2B returning worker exemption for three years. Eighteen senators have signed on as co-sponsors of the legislation.
PLANET continues to encourage landscape professionals to contact their senators and representatives about the importance of the H-2B program to their businesses. Ask senators and representatives to co-sponsor S. 388 or thank them if they are already co-sponsors.
