BASF receives California registration for two herbicides

BASF Turf & Ornamentals announces its FreeHand 1.75G herbicide and Drive XLR8 herbicide have received full registration in California. FreeHand 1.75G combines a granular formulation of dimethenamid-P with pendimethalin for pre-emergent weed control. This herbicide is labeled for use in landscape ornamentals in maintained areas and in container, liner and general grounds maintenance in specified noncrop areas.

Drive XLR8 is a broad-spectrum herbicide used for post-emergent control of weeds like crabgrass, dandelions and clovers. A liquid formulation of quinclorac, DriveXLR8 has a use rate of 1.45 ounces per 1,000 square feet and is labeled for use on turf grasses, golf courses, sod farms and sports fields.
