IronPlanet earns top first-quarter performance in company history

IronPlanet reported its highest first-quarter performance to date with $91.3 million in gross sales. The online auction house of used construction and agricultural equipment reported the amount increased by 26 percent from 2008.

IronPlanet also saw a 15-percent increase in online registrations to almost 10,000 new members a month. The site had a record 15,000 visitors per auction as well. The company holds weekly auctions in North America and began holding monthlies in Europe, Southeast Asia and Australia this year.

Over this record-breaking year, the company broke its single-day auction sales record with $20.9 million in sales. IronPlanet also handled two one-owner liquidations for Kent Rental in Florida and Viebrock Construction & Equipment in Missouri.
