Association of Professional Landscape Designers presents annual awards

The Association of Professional Landscape Designers named James Doyle of James Doyle Design Associates in Greenwich, Connecticut, the 2010 Landscape Designer of the Year. The Association honored Doyle’s Harmony Farm project.

The association will present awards at the APLD International Design Conference September 27-October 2, 2010, in Dallas, Texas.

Landscape designers were able to submit to six different categories for this year’s program including residential, non-residential, small garden, show garden, planting design and specialty project. Project impact, creativity, technical merit and planting design were the criteria used to evaluate the submissions.

The judging panel was made up of well known experts in the field including Robin Templar Williams, APLD, FSGD; C. Colston Burell; Norman K. Booth, FASLA; W. Gary Smith, ASLA; Julie Moir Messervy, Mark Gregory and Susan Appleget Hurst.
