Updated Feb 20, 2013

The Association of Professional Landscape Designers announced its Annual International Landscape Design Awards program winners.

James Doyle of James Doyle Design Associates in Greenwich, Connecticut, was named “Landscape Designer of the Year” and won a gold award for his Harmony Farm project. Scott Brinitzer of Scott Brinitzer Design Associates in Arlington, Virginia, won a gold award for his Walsh-Sheridan project.

There were six categories of landscape design: residential, non-residential, small garden, show garden, planting design and specialty project. The judging panel of experts evaluated the submissions by criteria such as project impact, technical merit, creativity and planting design. The judges awarded 19 merit awards and two honorable mention awards.

Awards will be presented at the APLD International Design Conference on Sept. 27 through Oct. 2 in Dallas, Texas.
