John Deere to expand Iowa plant

John Deere will expand its Ankeny, Iowa, facility to add a new production line to build self-propelled sprayers. The $112.8 million expansion will add 300,000 square feet.

The Moline, Illinois-based company plans to invest $35 million in construction costs for the project, along with $32.8 million in machinery and equipment and $45 million in research and development expenditures, reports the Des Moines Business Record.
