‘I’m Turfin’ and I Mow It’ Video Celebrates Green Spaces

Updated Sep 10, 2014

High school students from New Prague High School in New Prague, Minnesota, and the Turf & Ornamental Communicators Association (TOCA) have put together a video to celebrate green spaces in a community.

Developed last fall, the video was done at the request of Den Gardner, executive director of TOCA and an advisory council member of Project EverGreen.

After teaming up with Kiffin Deihl, a boardcast instructor at New Praque High School, the video turned into a class project. Each group of students produced a video sample with the best segments being edited together in the end.

Using the music from a popular song by LMFAO, the group transformed “I’m Sexy and I Know It” into “I’m Turfin’ and I Mow It.”

The parody lyrics were written by Gardner and performed by Andy McNab and Cody Sirek who are both seniors at New Prague High School. Rita Sapp, who is the music instructor at the school, coordinated the music.
