At the Green Industry Conference (GIC) in Louisville Kentucky this year, PLANET, the Professional Landcare Network, will be giving back.
The organization will be hosting its third annual PLANET Gives Back project, which is a volunteer service event on Oct. 23 during the conference.
Approximately 75 PLANET members will work at the Home of the Innocents, a nonprofit shelter and pediatric convalescent center that provides services to those facing severe crisis, including children who have been abused, neglected or abandoned, medically fragile children and those with autism.
Volunteers will plant approximately 25 trees in the area, as well as a butterfly garden and cold crops in vegetable beds.
The number of volunteers is limited to 75 and some openings are still available. If interested, visit PLANET’s website or call the PLANET office at 800-395-2522.
