Because of the continuing concern of fuel prices and the government’s push for “greener” regulations, A.R.E. is designing custom trucks caps for alternative fuel vehicles.

According to the U.S. Department of Energy, compressed natural gas powers roughly 112,000 vehicles in the U.S. today and about 14.8 million vehicles worldwide.

To assist fleet managers in transitioning to vehicles that can readily use low cost, clean-burning fuel, A.R.E. has adapted some of its offerings for Ford and Chevy trucks to accommodate CNG fueling options.

The company has designed its products to allow access to the CNG tanks for refilling purposes and has designed Deluxe Commercial Units (DCU’s) for electric-powered fleets.

The caps feature ladder racks, flip-up doors with toolboxes and waterproofing.

A.R.E. can outfit DCUs with clamp-down, or drop-down locking ladder racks to help drivers access ladders on the top of the unit.
