Garden Yard ‘N Tree Wins Landscaper’s Dream Package

Bray, who is in the process of relocating his business to Baton Rouge, Louisiana, says he was shocked to find out he won.

“My first thought was, ‘Is this real?’” he recalls. “I read the email saying I won while I was in a meeting, so I tried to keep a straight face until it was finished. It’s totally amazing.”

His business has never had matching equipment before, he says, so now having a top-of-the-line fleet of equipment and products will help him charge more for his services.

“It makes us look like we know what we’re doing,” he explains. “I’ve always just landscaped with whatever we had on hand. I feel like it was a blessing it all came my way.”

The prize package included a Dixie Chopper Magnum mower, outdoor power equipment (such as a chainsaw, string trimmer, edger and blower) from Husqvarna, PRO Landscape design software from Drafix Software, AlturnaMats ground cover mats, hand tools from Corona Tools, mower/trailer locking system from PowerLocker and chemicals from PBI Gordon.

Bray says he entered the contest at last year’s GIE+EXPO. “I just entered and went to the show with an open mind to what I could learn,” he says. “Then I come back to find I won the whole package.”

He wants to purchase a box trailer to display all of his new equipment, and he says he’s excited to use the pruning tools to become a specialist with that service.

“I really look forward to using this equipment and operating for the coming year,” he says. “It’s a true blessing.”
