Hendrix Progressive Fuel Technologies is adding to its inventory.
The company will start providing propane conversion kits that are EPA certified for nine engines in three block sizes.
The EPA certification also qualifies the kit for a $500 incentive through the Propane Education & Research Council’s (PERC) Propane Mower Incentive Program.
The propane conversation kits are designed for geographic elevations ranging from sea level to 2,500 feet and from 2,500 feet up to 5000 feet.
Each kit includes an installation manual with instructions on adjusting the engine idle, as well as the fuel mixture, to EPA performance specifications.
The idle fuel mixture adjustment is performed using an exhaust gas analyzer that measures the engine’s carbon monoxide (CO) levels.
The nine engines include:
Kawasaki 852cc – FX-751V / FX-801V / FX850V
Kawasaki 726cc – FX730V / FX691V / FX651V
Kawasaki 603cc – FS481V / FS541V / FS600V
PERC’s Propane Mower Incentive Program offers landscape professionals $500 toward each qualified propane mower conversion or $1,000 toward each purchase of a new propane-powered OEM mower. Many states also offer incentives for converting off-road equipment to propane.
