A pine tree planted in memory of former Beatle George Harrison died after being infested with … beetles.

The tree, which is in Los Angeles’s Griffith Park, was planted in 2004 — three years after Harrison’s death. It served as a place for the group’s fans to visit and remember this iconic guitarist.

At more than 10 feet tall, the pine was attacked by tree beetles and eventually died.

But, the LA City Council plans to replant a tree in its place later this year.
