The Irrigation Association has named Richard Reinders, retired executive vice president of Reinders, Inc. in Sullivan, Wisconsin, the 2014 recipient of IA’s industry Achievement Award.

Reindeers accepted his award during the general session at the 2014 Irrigation Show & Education Conference in Phoenix.

The Industry Achievement Award is established in 1966 and honors individuals whose careers demonstrate outstanding contributions to the advancement of the irrigation industry, products, practices, education, research and professionalism. Reinders played an integral role in developing Watertronics Pumping Systems from a small, garage-shop operation to a large pump station manufacturer. He sold the company to Lindsay, Inc. in 2008 to complement their center pivot sales. He also helped build Reinders, Inc. to a premier distributor in the Midwest.

Reinders is retired, but he remains active in the irrigation industry by serving as a director on Reinders’ board.

He also maintains and operates a farm irrigation system consisting of a center pivot, five travelers, two turbine pumping systems, 2.5 miles of underground piping, 140 rotary pop-up turf sprinklers and ornamental drip tubing.
