Milwaukee Tool says the landscape maintenance tools it will begin selling next month – the M18 FUEL String Trimmer, M18 FUEL Blower and M18 FUEL Hedge Trimmer – outperform competitive 18-volt and higher voltage equipment. The manufacturer says all three are “fully compatible with more than 125 solutions on the M18 System.”
Andrew Lentz, product manager for Milwaukee Tool, said the company “spent hundreds of hours researching with landscape maintenance professionals to understand their requirements for performance, durability and ergonomics.”
“Unwilling to settle on sub-par performance, we continued to advance our technologies until we could provide a true productivity enhancement and innovative solution,” Lentz said. “By combining three exclusive innovations – the PowerState brushless motor, new M18 RedLithium High Demand 9.0 battery pack, and RedLink Plus intelligence – our new outdoor power equipment delivers breakthrough performance that even outperforms higher voltage cordless solutions on the market.”
Milwaukee Tool says the new string trimmer has the power to clear thick brush, reaches full throttle in under one second, and provides up to an hour of run-time per charge. The motor is positioned in the rear of the trimmer to provide the best combination of power, balance and maneuverability, the company says, and users can choose between low and high with a variable speed trigger.
The trimmer features a 16-inch cutting swath, along with a single piece, solid drive shaft that delivers more consistent power during heavy applications. The full-size head holds more line and has a metal reinforced bump knob for longer life, according to the manufacturer.
The M18 FUEL Blower has the power to clear debris from 15 feet and offers a combination of exceptional power and run-time, the company says. Milwaukee Tool says the new blower’s increased power can clear leaves, jobsite debris and clippings in a single pass, and from a further distance, increasing productivity.
Like the trimmer, the blower has a variable speed trigger. It also has cruise control, enabling it to be set to a desired power output, and the manufacturer says the M18 FUEL Blower is 30 percent quieter than gasoline-powered handheld solutions.
The M18 FUEL Hedge Trimmer can cut ¾-inch branches, cuts up to 30 percent faster than competitive models and provides up to two hours of run-time per charge. Its 24-inch blade trims more material in a single pass, according to Milwaukee Tool, and the blade tip guard prevents damage to property and the blades.
