This home had a large, conventional back yard – mostly consisting of turf. The homeowners wanted an additional social area near their existing large deck and patio to add character and flair to the yard. As a result, an elegant Chilton stone fireplace and wooden pergola were constructed, and electric and gas lines were run from the house to light the pergola and start the wood-burning fireplace. Various perennials and groundcover plantings surround the decomposed granite entryway. The cozy space was finished off with annual planters and padded teak seating.
