Photo Credit: OC ParksIn honor of the 2013 National Crime Victims’ Rights Week, the County of Orange in California, the Orange County Board of Supervisors and OC Parks are hosting a competition.
The organizations are asking for a design of a new Crime Victims’ Memorial to be installed at the William R. Mason Regional Park.
The winning design will be expressing the cross-cultural and inter-generational impact of crime on members in the community. The goal is to create a gathering space for visitors to remember and heal.
Designers will submit their drawings for the site as the first phase, and a jury of 10 will select five finalists to move onto stage two.
Stage two will ask for a more detailed design, elevation view, logo design and an optional materials board. Finalists will also be asked to present their design concept to the jury.
A completed registration form must be submitted online no later than 5 p.m. on May 31.
