John Deere introduced its Tier 4 Final compact wheel loaders, the 244K and 324K last year and now is offering upgraded versions with more power.
The 244K-II and the 324K have been improved to increase productivity, visibility, versatility, and lower daily operating costs for those in the landscaping industry, according to John Deere.
“John Deere customers are used to compact wheel loaders that deliver big results, but they wanted even more,” said Doug Laufenberg, product marketing manager for compact wheel loaders, John Deere Construction & Forestry. “They wanted more power and productivity, so we answered with increased horsepower and higher lift options to not only meet, but exceed their demands.”
The new 244K-II is equipped with a 70-horsepower Tier 4 Final engine that provides the extra boost of power customers requested. It can reach travel speeds of 17 mph and has a smooth turning radius that is 20 percent tighter than comparable loaders, according to the manufacturer.
The 324K now comes with a high-lift option that makes it adept at carrying loads without spilling and solid stability of lighter materials.
Both of the machines feature higher flow hydraulics so they can run heavy-duty attachments, such as snow blowers and cold planers. Operators can use a variety of Worksite Pro attachments and can add an optional push-button-activated skid steer style coupler that allows the user to connect and release attachments without leaving their seat.
