The Irrigation Association has scheduled a one-hour webinar on pressure regulation and the use of check valves in landscape irrigation for Jan. 27 beginning at 2 p.m. EST. The cost is $25. You can register here.
Pressure regulation and check valves help conserve water. Pressure regulation can be achieved in several different ways: at the point of connection, at the valve or at the sprinkler head. Each method has its advantages and disadvantages.
Check valves help prevent low-head drainage that empties lateral pipes unnecessarily. The seminar, which will be presented by IA’s industry development director, Brent Mecham (CID, CLWM, CIC, CLIA, CAIS), will cover the various features available and their best application in the landscape.
Participants can expect the session to address the following questions:
- How do pressure regulators work?
- How do pressure regulators improve irrigation efficiency?
- What are the advantages of check valves?
- How can they be incorporated into existing irrigation systems?
