Southeastern Equipment Co. Inc., a Case Construction Equipment dealer, donated two TR310 compact track loaders with grapple buckets to Team Rubicon for its work on Operation Joe Louis.

Unlike some of Team Rubicon’s recent projects involving restoring or improving wildlife refuges, this operation was an urban blight cleanup in Detroit, Michigan. The organization partnered with the City of Detroit’s Motor City Make-Over event, which is an annual citywide volunteer cleanup and beautification initiative.

Team Rubicon also worked with Herman Kiefer Development LLC, to clean up the Herman Kiefer Hospital complex and neighborhood by conducting damage assessments, home repairs and debris management.

This isn’t the first time Team Rubicon have visited the city to lend a helping hand. Operation Flood Wrangler was a project in 2014 in the wake of flooding in the area and in 2016 Team Rubicon partnered with Motor City Blight Busters for a revitalization project in the Brightmoor neighborhood.

The Case TR310 CTLs were used for debris management during the project and helped remove fallen or dangerous trees, trash, overgrown plants, debris and refuse as well as the demolished remains of several garages and outbuildings.

Team Rubicon brought in over 100 volunteers and training personnel from around the country to assist locals in their cleanup efforts. Clearing both inhabited and vacant properties of debris, Team Rubicon logged in 2,964 work hours and helped save $85,517.

Team Rubicon is a veteran-led disaster response organization that has been working with Case since November 2015.
