SnowWolf introduces redesigned ProPlowFX

SnowWolf has resized the blade and shortened the distance from the cutting edge to the back of the attachment on its all-purpose ProPlowFX to improve maneuverability and make it a better size for smaller skid steers and compact tractors. For landscapers that like their attachments to pull double duty, SnowWolf’s new ProPlowFX is an all-purpose plow that works great for both snow removal and landscaping.

As part of the redesign, SnowWolf resized the plow to make it more suited for smaller skid steers and compact tractors. It can be used with machines that weigh up to 8,000 pounds and is available in 5-foot, 6-foot, 7-foot and 8-foot lengths.

“The new ProPlowFX is the best all-purpose blade you can buy,” said Jerry Holman, SnowWolf president and product development manager. “It’s perfect for people who want a really good snowplow that’s just as good for moving dirt, filling holes and light grading year-round.”

The plow features a semi-floating torsion system that provides shock absorption when traveling between projects by resting its weight on the torsion system. The system also allows the user to apply variable down pressure from zero to full down pressure on the blade. In the event of striking an obstacle while plowing, the torsion system also provides cushioning.

While a trip feature is indispensable when plowing snow, it can make it almost impossible to use a plow with this aspect when moving dirt or other materials as it will trip at every obstacle it encounters.

To overcome this, SnowWolf allows operators to lock the trip mechanism with two bolts between the blade and quadrant interface. This redesign was made in response to clients in the southern U.S.

“It only snows three times a year at best in some of those states,” Holman said. “People wanted to use the ProPlowFX at other times for filling in holes on gravel driveways, spreading black dirt or grading, but that wasn’t possible because the blade tripped all the time. We fixed that with stronger implements and the trip-lock-out system.”

The plow also features automatic oscillation, which allows it to rise or fall up to 5 inches on either end so the plow can follow the contours of the surface. Holman says that the plow was also redesigned to be more compact, dropping the height from 30 inches tall to 27 ½ inches tall to help operators see over the top.

“It’s a bit more compact, but it hasn’t lost any strength compared to the previous design,” he said.

The ProPlowFX comes with a two-year warranty. For more information, click here.

SnowEx upgrades V-Maxx G2 hopper spreaders and Liqui Maxx spray system

To improve performance and operation efficiency for contractors, SnowEx has upgraded the V-Maxx G2 hopper spreaders and Liqui Maxx spray system.

The V-Maxx G2 lineup has eight different V-box models with sizes varying from 1.5 to 6 cubic yards. Each spreader is polyethylene constructed and an attached vibrator with an inverted “V” baffle shakes to prevent material clumping of sand, salt or both.

The dual variable-speed control is smaller than previous models and requires only a single 4-pin wire to enter the cab, making it less obtrusive and providing more location options for mounting. The digital, self-diagnosing unit controls the standard vibrator, optional accessories and allows independent adjustment of spinner and auger speeds. It can also clear jams with an auto reverse function.

The V-Maxx G2 is entirely electric, with no engines, pulleys, sprockets, belts or chains to maintain. The spinner starts at the speed setting on the dial instead of blasting at the start. Spread width can go up to 40 feet.

Meanwhile those that prefer to use liquids for their ice management, the Liqui Maxx now features an electric start for the gas-powered deluxe model. It is available with tank sizes of 300, 500, 750 and 1,250 gallons. The elliptical tank has a low center of gravity and a sump for complete draining.

Liqui Maxx comes with the option of two pump controls. The standard control has three-zone spray capabilities with on/off switches. The deluxe model allows the sprayer to automatically adjust the flow rate with speed input as needed and optional GPS speed sensors can calculate the proper application rate. Both types of controls can manage the driver-side, center-lane and passenger-side zones independently.

New to the spray system is a dry-seal centrifugal pump that has a low-water shutoff switch preventing the pump from running dry. Liqui Maxx has a spraying capacity from 10 to 60 gallons per acre depending on vehicle speed. It comes with a two-year warranty.

Toro announces new attachment for GrandStand MULTI FORCE

The GrandStand MULTI FORCE caused a stir in 2015 when it was first introduced as a stand-on mower that could be used in any season with its exchangeable attachments.

In the summer, it uses the Turbo Force cutting deck, the EZ-VAC powered bagger in the fall and the Boss snow plow in the winter, but now there is also the power brush attachment.

The 55-inch power broom can be used for clearing snow off sidewalks and driveways, as well as clearing debris or dethatching lawns.

“The new power broom helps contractors be more productive and gives them more options to tackle winter storms,” said Chris Hannan, Toro senior marketing manager. “They now can choose between either a snow plow or a power broom, depending on the type of weather system that comes through or the type of property they maintain.”
