Briggs & Stratton recently introduced two new commercial-grade Snapper Pro stand-on mowers, the SS100 and SS200, to landscape contractors.

The company says these mowers are built to handle high mowing speeds in wide open areas while offering productivity-enhancing agility on difficult terrain.

“Stand-on mowers are a great option for operators who need to frequently stop and start to move obstacles or clear debris, want to save room on the trailer or desire a higher vantage point during operation,” says Dan Roche, marketing director for commercial products. “Stand-on mowers have a compact footprint, allowing landscape contractors to fit more on the trailer.”

The company says the SS100 model is available in two models. One powered by a 23 gross horsepower Vanguard model 3867 engine, and the company says this compact model includes a 36-inch, 10-gauge fabricated cutting deck. The other model, the company says, is powered by a 19 gross horsepower Kawasaki FX600V engine and has a 48-inch iCD cutting system.

Briggs & Stratton says both models feature hydro-gear ZT-3400 transaxles, large drive tires and never-go-flat caster tires on the front that the company says allows the unit to handle any mowing condition at up to 8 mph.

The company adds that the operating platform with suspension is adjustable for a large range of weights and operating conditions.

Briggs & Stratton says the SS200 runs on a 28 gross horsepower Vanguard 810cc EFI engine with Oil Guard. The company says their patented Oil Guard System saves contractors up to 60 percent on oil maintenance per unit, per season.

The company says operators can select from either a 52-inch or 61-inch iCD cutting system, and the SS200 also has hydro-gear ZT-3400 transaxles, large drive tires and never-go-flat caster tires on the front that the company says ensures the mower powers through every pass at up to 10 mph.

The company adds that the operating platform with suspension is adjustable for a large range of weights and operating conditions.

Briggs & Stratton says both the SS100 and SS200 are backed by a 2+2 year limited warranty that covers the unit for four years or 500 hours. During the first two years, the company says the mower is covered for unlimited hours, and all suspension components, including the coil-over shocks, are covered for five years.

The company also announced the expansion of InfoHub for Commercial Turf, which they say adds new capabilities one year after its initial launch.

Specifically, Briggs & Stratton says the business optimization tool will now offer the same tracking and maintenance capabilities for diesel engines that it currently provides for gas-powered equipment such as lawn mowers.

“Our commercial cutting customers have a wide range of equipment in their fleets, some diesel and some gas-powered,” says Carissa Gingras, director of marketing, global support for Briggs & Stratton. “They are looking for a solution that covers all of their equipment, from skid steers to backhoes to ZTRs. With the diesel offering, we can now provide real-time and historical tracking for landscaping, hardscaping and snow removal equipment.”

Briggs & Stratton says that in support of full-fleet tracking, the company also launched its InfoHub OBD (on-board diagnostic) to track vehicles.

The company says all three InfoHub devices – for gasoline-powered equipment, for diesel-powered equipment and for trucks – can be installed by a trained mechanic in less than 15 minutes, and the real-time data is fed from sensors via the cloud to an easy-to-use online dashboard.

The company adds that they are also launching a version of InfoHub designed specifically for outdoor power equipment dealers. This new version, Briggs and Stratton says, will help dealers track both location and maintenance needs of rental and demo equipment.

“We’ve heard from several of our dealers that they are challenged in keeping track of their demo equipment,” stated Gingras. “By installing InfoHub on their demo equipment, they will not only know where their equipment is at all times, but they will also better understand how that equipment is being used.”

For dealers with multiple locations, the company says InfoHub will simplify the process of knowing where each unit is and can also provide detailed information for invoicing purposes. Briggs & Stratton adds that geofence technology will alert dealers when a piece of equipment leaves the dealership.

Based on feedback from current users, the company says it also introduced a version of InfoHub with maintenance information and live, historical equipment tracking features at an entry-level price point.

This option, the company says, will be $12.99 per month, per piece of installed equipment for the subscription, plus the one-time cost of the hardware.

For commercial landscapers wanting a more robust offering, Briggs & Stratton says the full InfoHub package is available for $26.99 per month, per piece of installed equipment for the subscription, plus the one-time cost of hardware.
