Toro’s new Outcross 9060 takes the best of both a tractor and a utility vehicle and provides a machine that is versatile enough for any operation.
According to Toro, the Outcross allows turf managers and superintendents do more with less labor and time. The machine is turf-friendly, unlike many traditional compact tractors, due to a weight-balanced chassis and four-wheel steering paired with full-time four-wheel drive.
Each wheel turns individually based on the machine’s ground speed and angle, minimizing the possibility of turf damage while improving its ability to travel on uneven terrain.
Powered by a 59.8-horsepower Yanmar liquid-cooled diesel engine, the Outcross can tow up to 16,000 pounds and has an optional cargo bed that can hold 4,500 pounds worth of material.
The controls are intuitive, so operators of all skill levels can operate the machine and one-action controls, cruise control and utility bed come standard on the Outcross.

The Outcross can accommodate a number of standard turf maintenance attachments thanks to a standard three-point hitch with PTO, drawbar and universal loader mounting plate. Operators can pre-program attachment parameters to reduce the odds of operator error. Attachments the machine can use include but are not limited to, loader buckets, pull-behind rotary mowers, fertilizer spreaders, aerators, forks and seasonal attachments for snow and ice removal.
“From the very beginning of the development of the new Outcross 9060, we focused on what matters to most superintendents and turf managers, which all centers around doing more with less,” said Noah Wahl, global product marketing manager at Toro. “This includes simplifying operation, optimizing power and uptime and integrating dozens of attachments to perform virtually hundreds of tasks, all while focusing on being extremely turf-friendly.”
The Outcross 9060 will be available summer 2018 and an all-season, climate-controlled safety cab is also available as an option to keep users sheltered from weather and debris.

Toro is also preparing to release its new Groundsmaster 1337 pull-behind rotary mower.
The Groundsmaster 1337 features three cutting decks that can flow with the contours of the terrain while duel full rollers leave a well-groomed after-cut appearance.
The rotary mower has a 12-foot wide cut and the cut height can be adjusted from 0.5” to 4”. The unit also features transport axles that sport an integrated torsion spring that helps reduce bumps and jarring.
“Driven by productivity, performance and durability, it’s really the only pull-behind worthy of being called a Groundsmaster,” said Jeremy Opsahl, global product marketing manager at Toro. “This new unit is the ideal piece of equipment to complement the new Toro Outcross 9060, and our channel partners and end-user customers are already very excited about it.”

The system allows users to manage all their assets, regardless of brand and the “at a glance” dashboard keeps fleet managers in the know of upcoming maintenance requirements and the operational status of equipment.
The total cost of ownership and asset performance can be determined by detailed historical maintenance and Toro’s wireless hour meter automatically tracks operating hours.
New features include fuel tracking and 24/7 online parts ordering. The system can make part order recommendations based on maintenance needs and the user’s current inventory.
