Green Roof for Harrah’s Cherokee
When the expansion to Harrah’s Cherokee Casino & Hotel is completed, guests will be welcomed under a green roof situated atop the canopy at the casino’s main entrance. Growing pains: Adding a nursery
It begins with a logical question: Why should I pay a wholesale distributor or plant broker for my landscape plants and trees when I could grow them myself? After all, most landscapers are good with plants, soil and maintenance, and already have a built-in customer base: their clients.

Smart Controllers
When put to the test, these irrigation controllers can reduce water use 15 to 30 percent and prevent over-watering. In the beginning, there was heaven and earth. Rain came as part of the package. Whenever this proved insufficient, humans employed various technologies to water crops and landscapes — irrigation canals, pumps and so on.

Definite ‘Wow’ Factor
Spacious design leaves client glowing Medea Landscape Studio (medealandscapestudio.com) jazzed up this disconnected, confined landscape using the classical elements – earth, water and fire – but there’s nothing traditional about the project. Their design solution had to accommodate a stand-alone spa, crowded patio and walkout basement with no connection to the sitting area. The existing […]

And no equipment has a more demanding duty cycle, often up to 80 hours per week under full load during the cutting season, followed by months of storage and, often, benign neglect. Here are the key performance characteristics of mowers to examine.
